The Faculty Forum at IIT Delhi is a BoG-approved body of faculty at the institute. The forum was set up to seamlessly integrate policies made by the administration and their successful implementation, which also serves as a feedback mechanism. Another important task of the forum is to address the issues related to faculty welfare. The membership of the faculty forum is voluntary, and currently, about 600 members (more than 80% of the total faculty) are members of the Forum. The executive body of the forum is elected once every two years. For the last thirty years, the Forum has been successfully serving the interests of the faculty.

Recognizing the need for a safety net and support system, the IIT Delhi Faculty Forum has taken a compassionate step forward by initiating the Faculty Distress Fund. This fund is a testament to our commitment to not only academic excellence but also the well-being of our valued faculty members and their families.
The primary objective of the Faculty Distress Fund is to provide vital financial assistance to the families of esteemed faculty members in the unfortunate event of their untimely demise or in times of other pressing welfare needs. The Forum firmly believes in standing together as a community during times of hardship and ensuring that no faculty member feels unsupported.
This initiative begins with the collective support of generous donors who contribute to create a substantial corpus fund. This corpus fund is a reservoir of resources that will be carefully invested to grow over time. As the fund matures, the interest earned from this endowment will be utilized to provide financial assistance to faculty members and their families in times of need.
