A Talk by Mr. Amit Lodha

The Alumni Affairs and International Programmes (AAIP), IIT Delhi, organized an interactive talk session with our esteemed alumni and IPS Mr. Amit Lodha (1995Batch). Mr. Lodha is holding the rank of inspector general (IG) of police. He was bestowed with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the Police Medal for Gallantry, and the Internal Security Medal. He recently released a collection of his memoirs in the form of a book, titled – “Bihar Diaries: The True Story of Catching Bihar’s Most Dangerous Criminal.” which is soon to be made into a Bollywood movie by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey. He has launched several initiatives such as starting an organization called SAMBHAV, where youngsters from rural areas are encouraged to take up different social initiatives to help and uplift their communities. He has also started an initiative to educate juvenile delinquents in the police station and has played a key role in the launch of a web portal calledbharatkeveer.gov.in, in association with his friend and actor Akshay Kumaralongside the Home Ministry, which assists families of martyred soldiers of the nation. The alumni association presented a cheque of Rs. 1,50,000/- to be funded to Bharat Ke Veer’ campaign launched by Amit Lodha & Akshay Kumar to provide financial assistance to the families of martyrs.
