Dr. Aditya Grover

Dr. Aditya Grover graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Later, he completed his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2020. From 2020-21, Dr. Grover conducted postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley. During these years, he also conducted research internships and sabbaticals at OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. Since 2021, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he directs the machine intelligence (MINT) group.
Dr. Grover's research interests lie within generative artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications for multimodal perception and decision-making. In addition to fundamental contributions, he has grounded this research in real-world applications for accelerating science and sustainability. Aditya's research has been published in top venues, including Nature, and is currently cited over 15,000+ times. Some of his research has been deployed into production at major technology companies such as Google and OpenAI and highlighted in esteemed media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and MIT Tech Review.
Dr. Grover's research has been recognized with the best paper award at NeurIPS, several graduate fellowships, and faculty awards (Adobe, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Schmidt Sciences, Simons Institute, Sony, Stanford), the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, the AI Researcher of the Year Award by Samsung, the Kavli Fellowship by the US National Academy of Sciences, and the ACM SIGKDD Doctoral Dissertation Award. He is also a recipient of the Gores Award, which is Stanford's highest university-wide honor in teaching excellence for faculty and students.
