Alumni Reunions

Half a century after their time at IIT Delhi, the Class of 1976 returned to campus on 6th March 2026 for their Golden Jubilee Reunion. The gathering stood as a tribute to a batch whose work has gone on to shape industries, institutions, and communities long after their student days ended. Alumni used the occasion to reflect on the values shaped in their classrooms and hostels, and on how those values continue to guide them fifty years on.

Forty years after they first arrived at IIT Delhi, the Class of 1985 returned to campus on 20th February 2026 for their Ruby Reunion. The day was spent retracing old haunts, swapping stories from their student years, and catching up with batchmates scattered across the world. Families of the alumni also joined the celebrations, turning the reunion into an event to remember.

Glimpse – Silver Reunion (Batch of 2000):

Sixty years after they first set foot on the IIT Delhi campus, the Batch of 1966–67 returned on 20th December 2025 for their Diamond Reunion. The gathering marked six decades since their journey at the Institute began, bringing together one of IIT Delhi's earliest graduating classes for a landmark celebration. It was a moment to honour a lifetime of contribution across fields and institutions, a moment filled with memories, laughter, and relationships to cherish.

The Pearl Reunion of the Class of 1991, held on 19th December 2025, was a joyful celebration marking thirty-five years since the batch's graduation. The Institute Day featured interactions with the Institute's leadership, a campus tour of hostels and departments, and a lunch hosted by the Institute. Family members joined the alumni in celebrating this special milestone together.

IIT Delhi's first-ever Women Alumni Reunion, held on 1st November 2025, was a landmark celebration bringing together women graduates across generations to mark their journeys, impact and contributions. Chief Guest Dr. Kiran Bedi, a distinguished alumna, addressed the gathering, followed by a panel discussion, 'IIT Delhi Through the Eyes of Women', featuring accomplished alumnae. The IIT Delhi campus came alive on December 14-15, 2024, as the Batch of 1990 gathered to celebrate their 35th Pearl Reunion. This milestone event was a heartwarming journey down memory lane, filled with reconnections, nostalgia, and the unmistakable joy of returning "home" to IIT Delhi.

The celebrations were kicked off with the first part of the reunion on December 14th, as part of the Institute Day festivities. Alumni were warmly welcomed back to their alma mater, where they had the opportunity to interact with the institute's leadership and hear about its latest achievements and developments.

• How are these funds being utilized?

The funds are being utilized to organize the events. While an exact itinerary is being worked out and budgeted for, an approximate amount of INR 5,000/-. The budgeting and spending will be controlled and monitored by the organizing committee. A statement of collections and spending will be published post the event completion. Please note that the funds are earmarked for the events at the institute. Your expenses for stay, travel etc. would be borne directly by you. For your stay, recommended hotels with bulk rates are being negotiated. Details will be shared soon.

• I am a foreign national. Can I make a payment to the IITDAA account?

IITD Alumni Association does not have the ability to receive funds from foreign nationals due to FCRA guidelines. In the past,our alumni who have international bank accounts only, have taken help of their batchmates and families to remit the funds to IITDAA.

1. Funds Utilization: The funds are being utilized to organize the events. The outline of the plan is shared above. The budgeting and spending will be controlled and monitored by the organizing committee. Please note that the funds are earmarked for the 'formal' events at the institute and Crowne Plaza Greater Noida (CPGN). Your expenses for stay (other than 20 Jan'24 Night at CPGN), travel, attending Informal progrms etc. would be borne directly by you. A good portion of the Reunion would be funded through generous Sponsorships from our batch mates and their contacts. Any substantial  leftover surplus will be finally given as a contribution to the IITDAA Endowment fund.
2. Delhi Stay Assistance: For our outstation mates who require resonably priced accomodation, we are arranging limited number of"first-come-first-served twin sharing' self-paid accomodation at IITD Faculty House and two good South Delhi AirBnBs (@ Rs. 2000 per head per night). If you need assistance for stay, please send your request on: iitd80ruby@iitdalumni.com
