Jaswinder and Tarvinder Chadha Chair

1990 batch alumnus Mr. Jaswinder S. Chadha has endowed the “Jaswinder and Tarvinder Chadha Chair” to promote excellence and leadership in teaching, research and development in the area of Operation Research. The chair is instituted in the memory of Jaswinder Chadha’s mother, Dr Tarvinder Chadha, who was the first women to receive a PhD in Mathematics from IIT Delhi.

Jassi is a successful entrepreneur and angel investor. In 2009 he founded Axtria with the vision of building cutting-edge analytics and software solutions to help global companies to manage and get insights from big data effectively.  He has worked closely with over 100 global companies to improve the effectiveness of their commercial operations and has been recognized by several prestigious organizations for his leadership and entrepreneurial achievements. Jassi is the two-time winner of E&Y “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 2018 and 2004. Pharmaceutical Management Science Association (PMSA) awarded Jassi with a prestigious lifetime achievement award in 2014. In 2009, Jassi was named to the PharmaVOICE 100, which recognizes the 100 most influential people in the life sciences industry. He was awarded the year 2003 “Top Forty under Forty” by NJBiz Magazine.

Jassi is currently Advisory Council Member, Small Business and Agriculture (SBAAC) at Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Board of Directors of SpectraMedix, Board of Directors of Panjab Digital Library and Board of Directors of Sikh Research Institute. Previously, Mr. Chadha was co-founder and CEO of marketRx, which was acquired by Cognizant Technology Solutions in November 2007. Formerly, Mr. Chadha was on the Board of Trustees of TIE Global, New Jersey Technology Council, and PAN IIT.
