Mr. Deepinder Goyal

Mr. Deepinder Goyal received an Integrated M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Delhi in 2005.
He is the founder of one of the largest food aggregators in the world – zomato. Under his leadership, the startup that began as a platform for restaurant review and discovery in Delhi NCR has grown into a company synonymous with food in over 500+ cities in India. Over 70 million people use zomato to decide where to eat through 1.5 million listed restaurants across 24 countries around the world.
Zomato today is empowering the entire ecosystem through building food delivery and dining out experiences, and simplifying restaurant supply chain. With a long-term vision of ‘better food for more people’, zomato has a keen focus on sustainability with global feeding foundation and zomato feeding India, that tackles hunger and food wastage at large scale.
Prior to founding zomato in 2008, Mr. Goyal worked as a management consultant with Bain & Company.
In honoring Mr. Deepinder Goyal, IIT Delhi recognizes his entrepreneurial excellence. Through his achievements, Mr. Goyal has brought glory to the name of the Institute.
