Ajay Kaul obtained his B.Tech. in Textile Technology in 1986. He is currently a senior director and advisor at Everstone Capital, a leading private equity firm, and executive chairman of Domino's Pizza Indonesia and Burger King Indonesia. He also serves as a board member at XLRI Jamshedpur.
He is a business leader whose contributions have significantly impacted the food service industry, entrepreneurship, and social welfare. His leadership has driven transformative growth and innovation, earning him recognition as a pioneering figure in multiple sectors. As the former CEO of Domino's Pizza India and Jubilant Foodworks, Ajay led the brand to become the largest and most recognizable name in the quick service restaurant (QSR) sector. His strategic vision and execution were pivotal in making Domino's synonymous with the QSR revolution in India. Ajay's influence extended beyond Domino's, driving the growth of the entire food service industry.
Mr. Kaul is an active member of the Indian Angel Network, investing in and mentoring multiple startups, notably Chaayos, California Burrito, and Daalchini, all of which have thrived under his guidance, creating significant employment and innovation opportunities.
He is the founder of the iQwat Foundation, dedicated to uniting the globally dispersed Kashmiri Pandit community and preserving their cultural heritage. Through the AASHREY Charitable Trust, Ajay has made substantial impacts in hunger eradication and the rehabilitation of displaced communities. The trust has deployed significant resources towards food subsidies for the underprivileged and education for displaced Kashmiri Pandit children. He is a board member at Plan International India and Plan Indonesia, contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children, especially girls. He is also a core member of the Isha Leadership Academy, mentoring numerous young CEOs and fostering a spirit of nation-building in India.
In honouring Mr. Ajay Kaul, IIT Delhi recognizes the outstanding contributions made by him to the field of Corporate Leadership. Through his achievements, Mr. Kaul has brought glory to the name of the Institute.
