Ms. Ramya Venkataraman

Ms. Ramya Venkataraman earned her B.Tech. from IIT Delhi (1997) and Post-Graduation from IIM Calcutta (1999). She is currently the Founder and CEO of Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) Private Limited.

CENTA is now the world’s largest end-to-end professional platform for teachers, serving 2 million teachers from 100,000+ schools and 7000+ locations across India and several other countries. CENTA is making teaching aspirational, through certification, upskilling, career growth and ecosystem-shaping initiatives.

Before founding CENTA, Ramya had a 15-year career at McKinsey & Co, serving major companies across sectors and geographies. In her last 5 years there, she also built McKinsey’s education practice, pursuing her long-standing passion.

Ramya has been widely recognized for her contributions to education; e.g. among 15 Women Transforming India by NITI Aayog and UN, among Distinguished Alumni of IIM Calcutta, profiled in USA’s Peabody Journal of Education, invited as guest faculty in a Harvard course and so on.

While at IIT Delhi, Ramya was an active student leader and recipient of the Institute’s Cumulative Outstanding Contribution to BRCA as well as Kailash Hostel’s Roll of Honour.

In honouring Ms. Ramya Venkataraman, IIT Delhi recognizes her contributions to Public Service. Through her achievements, she has brought glory to the name of the Institute.
