Dr. Ravi Prasher
Dr. Ravi Prasher received his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1995. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1999. He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Bloom Energy in San Jose, California, a global leader in solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysers that is helping power the AI revolution through reliable, on-site electricity for data centres.
Dr. Prasher has made pioneering contributions to energy systems and thermal science and engineering. At Bloom Energy, he has driven innovations in load-following solid oxide fuel cells, carbon capture, waste heat recovery and green hydrogen production, advancing the transition to cleaner, more resilient energy systems. Earlier, during his career at Intel, he led the development of breakthrough microelectronics cooling technologies, including advanced liquid-cooling solutions that now enable the next generation of AI computing. His career has also included impactful roles at ARPA-E within the U.S. Department of Energy, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California, Berkeley. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and holds over 35 U.S. patents. He is a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a Lifetime Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
In honouring Dr. Ravi Prasher, IIT Delhi recognises his contributions to Research and Corporate Leadership. Through his achievements, Dr. Prasher has brought glory to the name of the Institute.
