Sashi graduated with a B.Tech. from IIT Delhi (Computer Science and Engineering) in the year 1987 followed by an MS from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU and then a Ph.D. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Sashi is the founder and managing partner of SRI Capital, a seed stage venture capital fund that invests in startups in the US and in India with a focus on enterprise SaaS. Both through SRI Capital as well as personally, Sashi is an investor in over 50 companies. He is also a venture advisor at WestBridge Capital.
Sashi is currently chairman of ffreedom, India’s largest livelihood education platform. Previously, Sashi was the founder and CEO of AppLabs, the world’s largest independent software testing company with over 2,500 QA professionals in India, the US, and the UK. AppLabs was funded by Westbridge Capital (Sequoia Capital India). CSC (now DXC) acquired AppLabs in September 2011.
Sashi is the founding president of TiE Philadelphia. He also serves on the board of T-Hub, India’s largest incubator for start-ups. Sashi runs a charitable organization, SRI Trust, that supports the educational and overall development needs of over 1125 children in three schools in Hyderabad, India.
Sashi is currently chairman of IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation and Founder & Board Member of IIT Delhi Endowment Fund.
