Mr. Ravi Uppal received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1973. he completed his post-graduation in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1975 Mr. Ravi Uppal is presently Vice Chairman & Managing Director of ABB in India and also Country Manager, South Asia-Pacific Region.Mr. Uppal has spent over 20 years with the ABB Group. Under his guidance, ABB’s India operations have seen meteoric growth in recent years. Mr. Ravi Uppal is the recipient of the “Royal Order of the Polar Star” awarded by His Majesty the King of Sweden and named a knight of this Order. He has also been honored with Helen Keller Award for facilitating employment of physically and mentally challenged.
Mr. Ravi Uppal has taken a keen interest in the growth of his Alma Mater. He has been responsible for the setting up of ABB Chair Professorship in Power and Automation at IIT Delhi. He has also helped in the setting up of ABB Scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Electrical. In honoring Mr. Ravi Uppal, IIT Delhi recognizes the significant efforts and contributions made by him for the development and progress of the development and progress of the Institute.
