IITD’s contribution to Republic Day Parade

IIT Delhi contributed to this year’s republic day parade on January 26 and beating retreat ceremony on January 29 in several ways which include drone show, design of ministry of education tableau, design of apparel for BSF’s all-women motorcycle daredevil team ‘Seema Bhawani”.

IIT Delhi incubated startup Botlab Dynamics thrilled the country at the Beating Retreat ceremony  with a 1,000-drone light show. The Botlab dynamics has been aggressive in developing this technology for last six years. The 10-minute show conceptualized by Ministry of Defence and financial support for the show came from ministry of science and technology. 

India became the fourth country after China, Russia and the UK to carry out such a large-scale show. This was done with technology developed within the country and all necessary components, both hardware and software such as flight controller, precision GPS, motor controller and ground control station algorithms were indigenous.
