Graduates of Last Decade (GOLD) Alumni Awards
IIT Delhi recognizes the achievement and contribution of its Alumni to various fields by conferring Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA) and Distinguished Alumni Service Awards (DASA) every year. While these awards celebrate outstanding achievements in a given field they tend to preclude such young Alumni from being recognized by the Institute who have shown great promise very early in their career. The recognition of the promise shown by these young alumni in the first decade or so of their career can go a long way in helping them go further in their chosen field. It will also help the Institute in nurturing a strong bond with its Alumni.
In view of this IITD has instituted the GOLD (Graduates of Last Decade) award to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions of young alumni of the Institute in academics, business, profession, and public service. To be eligible the alum must have been awarded a degree or a diploma of IIT Delhi in the decade immediately preceding the year in which the award is presented and he/she must not have attained the age of 35 years on the 1st August of the year of Award (as an illustration for awards being presented in the Convocation of 2021, the alum must have graduated from 2011-2020 and must be born after 1st August 1986). Alumni who are members of staff and faculty of IIT Delhi will not be eligible.
Nomination for the award may be made by the alumni and faculty members of IIT Delhi. Nominations will also be invited from members of the Board of Governors of IIT Delhi, Directors of all IITs, IIMs, past Directors of IIT Delhi and Registrar, IIT Delhi. Self-nominations and nomination of deceased Alumni will not be eligible.
The award will be in the form of a Silver Plaque of the Institute, a Citation and a Certificate and will be awarded at the Annual Convocation of the Institute.
