IITD Diamond Jubilee Celebrations inaugurated

The IIT Delhi Diamond Jubilee celebrations were inaugurated by Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India on Aug 17, 2020. At this momentous occasion, the Hon’ble Vice President released the Diamond Jubilee logo and a Strategy and Vision document of IIT Delhi and I attach these with this mail.

The Diamond Jubilee Logo has been designed by the faculty and staff of the Department of Design at IITD. It combines 4 elements – a leaf (for sustainability and growth), a Venn diagram (for interdisciplinary research), a diamond (for 60 yrs of IITD), and the Dogra/Convo hall roof (for excellence in research) – to create a harmonious and dynamic aesthetic.

The Strategy-and-Vision document captures the major initiatives proposed for the upcoming decade and was prepared under the guidance of the Strategy Committee chaired by Arun Duggal (B.Tech, Mechanical’67). At the request of the Strategy Committee, Mckinsey India undertook this project pro bono. Our alums Gautam Kumra, Ankur Puri, and Himanshu Satija, collected basic data and interviewed Faculty, Students, and Alumni to ascertain and outline the aspirations of all stakeholders for the future of IITD. The document will provide the path forward for various initiatives outlined in it.
