Strengthening International Collaborations: IIT Delhi Hosts Newcastle University Delegation

On January 22nd, 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from Newcastle University, UK, led by Professor Chris Day, Vice Chancellor and President. This visit marked a significant step towards fostering stronger academic and research collaborations between the two renowned institutions.

The Newcastle University delegation included:

• Laura Mitford – Head of International Recruitment & Development
• Prof. Claire Walsh – Director of Civil and Geospatial Engineering
• Prof. Jaime M. Amezaga – Deputy Director, Water Security Hub

A productive meeting was held between the delegation and the faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Delhi. Discussions focused on exploring future collaborations in areas such as civil engineering, geospatial technologies, and water security.
