IIT Delhi and University of Exeter Strengthen Collaborative Partnership

On January 22, 2024, IIT Delhi and the University of Exeter signed a landmark agreement to strengthen their collaborative partnership by committing resources to three key areas of shared priority and expertise:

  •  Sports Science, Elite Performance, and Rehabilitation
  • Climate Science, Environmental Data, and Clean Energy
  • Operations Research, AI, and Automation

This partnership is closely aligned with the UK-India 2030 Roadmap, combining expertise from both institutions to drive impactful research and innovation.

In sports science, the collaboration aims to support India's rapidly growing sports sector by addressing the needs of sports start-ups, elite athlete performance, rehabilitation, and the role of physical activity in promoting a healthier society. In climate science and clean energy, the partnership will leverage complementary expertise in science and policy to meet industry needs and support the transition to a sustainable, net-zero future.

Additionally, the IIT Delhi – Exeter Joint Symposium was held on January 30th on Sports Healthcare Science and Engineering, organized by the Office of the Dean of International Programmes, IIT Delhi, successfully brought together experts from IIT Delhi and the University of Exeter to explore collaborative opportunities in research, industry partnerships, and education. The symposium highlighted the synergy between the two institutions, showcasing their unique and complementary expertise in addressing the evolving needs of India's rapidly expanding sports sector. Discussions focused on cutting-edge advancements in sports science, healthcare innovations, and engineering solutions to enhance athletic performance and well-being.
