Ankur Kothari, CEO at Kusumgar Ltd Joins the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund as Co-Founder

Through his commitment to the Endowment Fund, he will support the infrastructure development and maintenance of Karakoram, his hostel at IIT Delhi, where the indoor sports room has been named in the memory of his late father.

New Delhi, 5th August 2026: IIT Delhi today announced Mr. Ankur Kothari (B.Tech, Textile Technology, Class of 2006) as a Co-Founder of the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund.

Mr. Kothari is the CEO of Kusumgar Ltd, a manufacturer of engineered fabrics and aerospace & defence solutions.

Mr. Kothari's commitment will help support the infrastructure development and maintenance of Karakoram hostel, where he lived as a student. A ceremony to honour his commitment was held at the hostel's indoor sports room, attended by Mr. Kothari, his family, representatives of the Foundation, and current residents of Karakoram. The room has been named the Shri Amolak Chand Kothari Sports Room, giving the occasion a deeply personal note.

"Karakoram was where my journey at IIT Delhi began, and it holds a very personal place in my heart," said Mr. Kothari. "This contribution is my way of honouring my father's memory while giving back to the place that shaped who I am today. I hope this renovated space brings the same sense of belonging and camaraderie to future generations of Karakoram residents that it once brought to me."
