Placements for the Academic year 2020-21

IIT Delhi, with a global ranking of 27th in the Employability Ranking 2020, is regarded as the most employable institute in India.

This year, the hiring processes were conducted in a virtual mode due to the extraordinary global situation. The Office of Career Services (OCS) facilitated these seamlessly and was acknowledged by stakeholders for organizing the processes harmoniously. The students geared up for their interviews in a digital mode with innovative and newer patterns of interactions maximizing the use of technology. OCS organised trainings for students to face processes in the changed paradigm and guided the recruiting organisations accordingly.

The Placement drive at IIT Delhi commenced from 1 Dec 2020 (like previous years) and shall continue till May 2021 for Academic year 2020-21. IIT Delhi Students have received nearly 1000 job offers (including Pre-Placement offers) as of now. International offers were received from Japan, Middle East, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.  Over 400 internship offers have been finalized as of now with International offers received from countries like Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and US.

Despite the ongoing unprecedented pandemic situation, IITD has received a good response from industry and we hope the same robustness continues till the end of this drive. Commenting on the process, Dr Anishya Obhrai Madan commented, “We at OCS are happy with the response from industry up to now. Currently, the team is working to help students who are still looking for jobs and internship opportunities. We continue to welcome organisations to campus for fulfilling their search for the best talent.”

About OCS: The Office of Career Services (OCS), IIT Delhi (formerly known as Training & Placement Unit) interacts with various industrial, management and research organisations in the country with the aim of ensuring that the students are given adequate technical exposure / industrial training. OCS also facilitates all students to get employment in organisations whose functional requirements of high caliber engineers, scientists and managers are best met by graduate and post-graduate students of the Institute. The MBA graduates are also facilitated by the institute to find appropriate internship and full-time opportunities.
