Eligibiltiy criterion :
To recognize PhD students of IIT Delhi whose experimental PhD thesis work is in the areas of Thin Films/ Nano-Materials/Quantum Materials/ Thin Film Solar Cells/ Thin film devices & applications, that is adjudged to be best in that particular year as per the scope of the award.
Two awards one to each of the following academic units:
1. Department of Physics
2. Department of Energy Science and Engineering
1. The student should be registered with IIT Delhi for Phd degree.
2. The award will be given on the basis of the published/accepted research papers by the student in the area of Thin Films/ Nano Materials/ Quantum Materials/ Thin Film Solar Cells/ Thin Film devices & applications as a part of the doctoral thesis work preferably having potential to servesociety at large, as per scope of the award.
3. The research work should be of Experimental in nature.
4. The research work should be primarily done in India.
5. Consideration for the award to be presented in a Convocation will be for those students whose final Phd viva has been held during 1 January to 31 December of the preceding year.
Selection criterion :
a) The award shall be given on the basis of the total Cumulative Impact Factor (CIF) score which will be computed by considering both the patents filed/awarded and the research papers he/she has published (including the accepted papers) using the formula.
b) All such journal papers shall be considered that are published / accepted during the period from the date of registration for Phd program to the 30th April of the year subsequent to the year of final Phd viva.
c) The students meeting the scope of the award should get in touch with their respective supervisors/Chairperson of DRC/CRC within two weeks of the call and provide them the list of eligible research papers with their current impact factors (mandatory) and other details of the Phd thesis, like Title, Name and Entry no., Department, Supervisors, Date of final Phd viva, etc. in the Excel Sheet template which will be sent with the call.
d) DRC/CRC will verify the eligibility of the applicants together with the publication data and make recommendation for the award based on highest CIF score auto calculated by the excel sheet template. In case of a tie (CIF score up to first decimal-place) the one who has lesser papers will be finalized for recommending for the award.
e) DRC/CRC recommendations should be sent to JR(Academics) by 30th June for further processing & finalization of awardees.
