We owe a great deal to the institution we studied at. It transformed our lives and shaped our professional journeys. There are two key ways to give back: by building bridges with the faculty and students, and by offering students voluntary training opportunities.

Our aim is to clearly communicate that financial contributions can solve numerous challenges, such as infrastructure and facility issues, and improve the overall quality of education. A strong endowment can significantly impact an institution, providing financial independence, much like the great universities in the USA or other regions. Endowments play a crucial role in advancing research and technology, which is a vision supported by the government as well.

I believe we are all custodians for future generations. Thousands have come before me, and many more will follow. We each do our part, hoping to inspire a few people along the way who will, in turn, pay it forward, continuing the circle of goodness.

There's a renewed commitment to bringing the best of the alumni back into the fold. If you're wondering how you can engage again or contribute, just reach out. You'll be amazed at the numerous opportunities to reconnect—whether for your own learning, giving back, or both. You can contribute your time or financially, and either way, it will be a fulfilling experience.

It’s about staying humble. I believe the onus is largely on us, the alumni, to engage with the institute. For a long time, I used to think about what more the institute could do, but I’ve come to realize that much of what we’ve achieved is because of the education we received. We owe it to the institution to give back in any way we can, and everyone has something different to offer.

The key is to bring together this collective experience to solve something meaningful. The institute can help shape the focus—whether it’s becoming the best in specific areas, improving infrastructure, attracting top faculty, or enhancing research. Once these priorities are clear, the synergy between motivated alumni and an eager institute can work wonders.

When we set up the foundation and the endowment fund, the goal was twofold. One part supports the institute’s general development, such as upgrading hostels, labs, and facilities—contributions to the general fund help in these areas. Even small donations go a long way toward making IIT Delhi more competitive. The second part focuses on specific initiatives alumni are passionate about, like cybersecurity, scholarships, or research in areas like textiles or civil engineering.

Each alumnus has different motivations, so we create platforms and events where they can contribute in ways that resonate with them. Whether it’s sponsoring music events, mentoring, or investing after a successful business exit, there’s room for everyone to engage. The institute has made strides, especially with the endowment fund, in building these opportunities over the past few years. Alumni can now contribute meaningfully while staying connected to the institute’s vision.

I am very excited about this idea and have no doubt that the mobilization of this fund will make a significant difference to helping IIT achieve it's fair position globally. These resources can make a real difference to not only creating world class infrastructure but also further step up IIT's effort in capitalising entrepreneurship in India

I have wonderful memories of my alma matter and always wanted to give back. Endowment fund gave me the opportunity to give back and make a real difference. EMF structure also empowers Alumni to be a part of the decision-making-process for utilization of funds in the institute

There's no doubt in my mind that this will soon bring India to the forefront of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Research and Development and substantial improvement in our education system with changes in infrastructure, faculty development and curriculum improvements. I feel proud to be an Alumnus of IITD

Over the years, IIT Delhi has produced exceptional business leaders. We feel that it’s time now for us to give back. I am sure this Endowment will help IIT compete with global institutions and foster the next set of India’s entrepreneurs and inventors.
